Award-Winning Author Margaret Dickenson Receives Prestigious Honour
Margaret and her husband, Lawrence (Larry) Dickenson are shown with their grandchildren and the stone that bears her name.
Margaret Dickenson is the author of the International award-winning cookbook, Margaret’s Table – Easy Cooking and Inspiring Entertaining, as well as creator and host of the TV series, Margaret’s Table. Margaret is also a regular contributor to Capital Style Magazine and Wedding Dreams Magazine. The University of Guelph Alumni Association identified Margaret as their ‘Alumnus of Honour for 2011’. The award is presented to recognize and celebrate the achievements of alumni who have brought great honour to their alma mater through professional, community and/or personal endeavours! Here Margaret is shown with her husband, Lawrence (Larry) Dickenson, a former Canadian ambassador to Kuwait and Indonesia. The couple are joined by their grandchildren. Over the years , Capital Style has covered the talents and kind deeds of Bruno Giammaria. He is shown above with his wife, Norma. We wrote about how – while building his home – he unwittingly invented a new hot water system that helps to conserve water use. Though Canadian patents are pending, Giammaria has received official notification that he is recognized in the United States as the system’s inventor. Mr. Giammaria is a master plumber. He is the founder of Bruno’s Plumbing (later Bruno and Son’s). In 1984, he installed a water system that enabled 12 public fountains to refresh the more than 200,000 people attending the Papal Mass at Lebreton Flats. He also works tirelessly for the community including devoting time to erect a fountain for Villa Marconi. He has founded and was president of the Patrica Social Club. In recognition of his substantial contributions (Ottawa) Italian Week recognized Bruno Giammaria as Person of the Year!
